I am requesting the exact percentage for Howard County.

I am also requesting any documents created by the Department of Special Education addressing how they will be initiating these services for which parents were notified one year ago of the number of hours of services to be received.

Finally, I am requesting when the COVID funding was received by HCPSS for this purpose.

These are invitations mailed to parents to date explaining how services would be initiated for the programs provided thus far by HCPSS Special Education.
This record reflects the submission of data to MSDE for the 9/27/22 report noted in your request. Please note, the HCPSS total reported for students who have begun receiving compensatory education/recovery services only included families that accepted the offer by HCPSS to initiate services and subsequently sent their student, which may vary from the reporting of other LEAs. Additionally, as outlined in this data, HCPSS determined more than 50% of special education students were eligible for compensatory education/recovery services, which contributes to the time involved in implementation of services when compared to other LEAs with lower percentages.
This record contains additional information maintained by HCPSS Special Education on outreach efforts and implementation of compensatory services to date. Please note, further review would be needed to determine releasability of all attachments, links and/or external records noted within the responsive document content itself.

*Some request language is summarized to include the requester's specific document requests and legally protected information (such as personally identifiable information of a student) or personal, defamatory and malicious content removed at the discretion of the school system.
