Since all school transportation in HCPSS is provided by external contractors, this request applies only to contractor-operated vehicles and should include:
- The amount of revenue generated by each individual bus through stop-arm camera citations
- The bus number of each vehicle associated with citations
- The contractor assigned to each bus
- A summary total of stop-arm camera revenue per contractor
- A district-wide total for all stop-arm camera revenue generated under HCPSS
Responsive to this request, please find attached an existing report of school bus numbers along with the associated contractor and vehicle type. Please note, the type used in this report reflects “C” for a conventional bus (engine out front) and “T” for a transit bus (flat nose). HCPSS does not maintain or receive records of citations or revenues for stop-arm cameras, therefore no records exist for revenues per contractor. Given the citations and revenues for stop-arm cameras are administered by the Howard County Police Department, the remaining records in your requests would come from that agency. You can find information regarding submission of an MPIA request to them on this website: https://www.howardcountymd.gov/PIA. For reference, the agreement between HCPSS and Bus Patrol has been previously released under this prior MPIA response: https://mpia.hcpss.org/requests/2023-123.
