Requested Information
Pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act, I am requesting existing records concerning student safety, bullying, discrimination, and school climate for the 2023–2024, 2024–2025, and 2025–2026 academic years.
The high schools included in this request are:
• Marriotts Ridge High School
• River Hill High School
• Centennial High School
• Mount Hebron High School
• Atholton High School
• Glenelg High School
• Howard High School
I also request the same records for all Howard County public middle schools, preferably in an existing districtwide report or spreadsheet.
Please provide, where maintained:
1. School-level bullying, cyberbullying, harassment, intimidation, and hate/bias incident statistics, including the number of reported and substantiated incidents.
2. Existing records summarizing racial discrimination complaints and school responses.
3. School-level disciplinary data concerning physical assaults, fighting, harassment, and intimidation.
4. Student school-climate survey results addressing student safety, belonging, racial inclusion, bullying, and trust in school administration.
5. Existing reports regarding bullying prevention, restorative practices, school safety programs, and staff training.
6. Existing school-level summaries or audits relating to compliance with Section 504 and disability-related harassment.
7. Existing summaries showing repeat incidents, where such information is already compiled.
I am not requesting the names, identifying information, confidential educational records, or personal disciplinary files of individual students.
