Hello!
I am requesting copies of existing records showing actual student enrollment by classroom or course section in the Howard County Public School System (HCPSS).
Specifically, I am requesting the following information for school years 2023–2024, 2024–2025, 2025–2026, and the most recent available data for 2026–2027.
ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS (PRE-K–GRADE 5)
Actual number of students enrolled in each individual classroom, broken down by school and grade.
Where maintained separately, class sizes for homeroom, self-contained, and special-area instructional classes.
The date or dates on which the enrollment counts were recorded.
MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS (GRADES 6–12)
Actual number of students enrolled in each individual course section, broken down by school, grade, and course or subject.
The number of sections offered for each course, where available.
The date or dates on which the enrollment counts were recorded.
RELATED STAFFING INFORMATION
Existing records showing teacher FTE allocations or actual teacher staffing by school and, where available, by grade or instructional area for the same school years.
PREVIOUSLY RELEASED CLASS SIZE RECORDS
I would also appreciate copies of the two attachments previously provided by HCPSS in response to Board of Education budget questions, reported February 9, 2024:
Q13 – ES Class Sizes Reported 9-30-23
Q14 – Section Class Totals MS-HS
These records were identified in the district's FY2025 Board Questions and Responses Report-Out.
