Pursuant to the Maryland Public Information Act, I am requesting information regarding any and all funds paid to your school board from probate or trust cases in which one or more recipients could or did not claim their inheritance. I am only seeking those funds still in your custody, not those that have been claimed or remitted to another entity. For each such payment or deposit, please provide the following information:
Name of case;
Name of recipient(s) entitled to claim the funds;
Amount paid into your custody; and
Date of such payment.

Responsive to this request, please find attached a deposit record containing information related to escheat funds received by HCPSS. Please note, the school system receives funds per the Maryland Code, Estates and Trusts Article ยง 3-105 Escheat, but does not track those claimed or remitted. Additional information sought such as those entitled to claim the funds per estate may be obtained from the Office of the Register of Wills in Howard County.
