I am requesting the number of HCPSS staff assigned as Adapted PE teachers and, of those, the number that have received the national Certified Adapted Physical Educators (CAPE) certification through APENS (Adapted Physical Education National Standards).

Please note that I have already received this information through MPIA from the public school systems in Prince George's County, Frederick County, Baltimore County, and Anne Arundel County. I am requesting the number of staff, not the names of staff.

Responsive to this request, please find attached the number of Adaptive PE teachers throughout HCPSS. Adaptive PE teachers are required to be certified by the Maryland State Department of Education, with additional certification considered scholastic achievement information within that individual’s personnel record when held, which is confidential under MPIA GP § 4-311.
