HCPSS MPIA Request #2018-139
Requested Information
As follow up to request 2018-060, please provide the 2016-17 data which shows high school enrollment by grade level (freshman, sophomore, junior, senior) by planning polygon number. The response received stated that this information is readily available for 16-17 although unfortunately the data to analyze by grade level which hcpss needs as it impacts redistricting decisions in 2018-19 isn't captured. Also, has anybody within school planning or otherwise involved in redistricting in hcpss even asked this important question of how many kids by high school grade level would be impacted if they are not allowed to stay at the high school they attend today?
Response Notes
The School Planning Office appreciates and takes into account all public comments during the planning process, and as such, I have passed along your questions regarding how high schoolers are impacted through graduation. The School Planning Office indicates grandfathering in certain grades is something that has been suggested and they plan to evaluate, however no documents at this time exist which address the potential. Please feel free to contact the Office of School Planning with further questions at 410-313-7184 or SchoolPlanning@hcpss.org.
Responsive Documents
Enrollment by grade and polygon as currently used by the School Planning Office for redistricting study purposes.
