Last school year, WLMS solar panels generated 364,290 KWh of electricity more that it used. Since Jan 2018 the school solar panels have generated 115,673 KWh more than was used. That is a total 426,463 total in the time it has been opened. BGE.com states that a going rate per KWh for a business is $.065 per KWh. Even at that extremely low rate, that is a savings of $27,720.10 attributed to the solar panels at WLMS. Where did the savings go? Upon what is the money being spent?

Please note, Finance staff indicates while this reflects the deposit of the Wilde Lake Middle School energy credit to the FY18 Utilities Budget under the HCPSS Operating Budget, as a portion of this savings happened in FY17 (due to the April to April cycle for true-ups from BGE), funds from this deposit will also be disbursed to Miscellaneous Revenue as the FY17 budget is closed. Under MPIA GP ยง 4-311, which prevents disclosure of personnel records of an individual, employee identification numbers have been redacted.
