Responsive to this request, information sought can be found under records previously provided under MPIA 2018-417, including the required qualifications as stipulated by Maryland law for Superintendents, the use of position descriptions, and the hiring process used by the Board of Education.   

That response also referenced the following MPIA requests in which records related to the Board’s process for hiring a superintendent were provided:

MPIA 2018-383 and MPIA 2018-410 which contained records related to preferred qualifications of a superintendent in the Board of Education’s Community Input Survey seeking Desired Characteristics of an HCPSS Superintendent.

MPIA 2018-423 which contained correspondence and supporting documentation based on the authority of the Maryland State Superintendent of Schools to approve local superintendent appointments.
