HCPSS MPIA Request #2018-119
Requested Information
1) What are the FARM student rates for elementary school, middle school and high school? Do we see any correlations there?
2) What is the turn-over rate? For example, how many FARM students become non-FARM students over years?
3) What is the average length (year) of FARM status for a FARM student?
4) what is acceptance rate for who applies FARM?
Response Notes
While we do not have responsive records that answer each individual question, we have provided ten years’ worth of data that you may analyze/summarize. Under the MPIA process, and as advised in the Fourteenth Edition of the Maryland Public Information Act Manual created by Maryland’s Office of the Attorney General, an agency is only obligated to produce existing records and is not required to generate new data or summarize data. Nor is an agency required to answer questions that would “create records to satisfy a PIA request.”
Responsive Documents
FARMs percentages per school, including pre-kindergarten, as collected by the HCPSS Food and Nutrition Services Office at the end of each respective school year for 2007-2008 through 2016-2017.
*Some request language is summarized to include the requester's
specific document requests and legally protected information (such as
personally identifiable information of a student) or personal, defamatory
and malicious content removed at the discretion of the school
system.
**Responses containing legally protected information available
only to the person of interest are omitted from the above
report.
