Requested Information
Recently, there are many discussions about the FARM students in HCPSS. I would like to request the following information:

1) What is the household size statistics for FARM student? What are the average and median salary and job statu (full time, part time or unemployment status, disabled, etc) statistics for FARM student?

2) What is the application success rate for FARM application?

3) What are the FARM student rates for elementary school, middle school, and high school? Do we see any correlations there?

4) What is the turnover rate? For example, how many FARM students become non-FARM students over years?

5) What is the rate when a student becomes FARM student, they will get out of FARM status?

6) What is the average length (year) of FARM status for a FARM student?

Response Notes

While we do not have responsive records that answer each individual question, we have provided ten years’ worth of data that you may analyze/summarize. Under the MPIA process, and as advised in the Fourteenth Edition of the Maryland Public Information Act Manual created by Maryland’s Office of the Attorney General, an agency is only obligated to produce existing records and is not required to generate new data or summarize data. Nor is an agency required to answer questions that would “create records to satisfy a PIA request.”

Responsive Documents
FARMs percentages per school, including pre-kindergarten, as collected by the HCPSS Food and Nutrition Services Office at the end of each respective school year for 2007-2008 through 2016-2017.

*Some request language is summarized to include the requester's specific document requests and legally protected information (such as personally identifiable information of a student) or personal, defamatory and malicious content removed at the discretion of the school system.

**Responses containing legally protected information available only to the person of interest are omitted from the above report.
