I am requesting, preferably in electronic format, copies of emails from and to the Atholton High School principal, Joann Hutchens, from May 1, 2017 to the present with search terms "special education" or "special ed", or "sped" or "spec ed", "schedule" or "scheduling", and "2017/2018".

An initial search of Ms. Hutchens emails, with the search terms indicated and during the timeframe requested, resulted in more than 700 emails, and the same search on Ms. Clark and Ms. Dix’s mailbox (from 2018-166) resulted in an additional 1000+ emails. Per our discussions to narrow the search to those related to “the involvement of ITLs in special education scheduling” we searched the above emails for “ITL” and “Instructional Team Leader” and reviewed each to locate the attached six responsive emails. Redactions contained within the emails fall under The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), which restricts access to student records, and MPIA GP § 4-313, which prevents disclosure of school district records pertaining to individual students. As such, we have redacted any reference to a particular student, or personally identifiable information that would reveal student information from the responsive records.
