I am requesting any information on Cued speech related both to use for students in the past 5 years in elementary, middle, and high school and trainings and/or education for HCPSS.

Responsive to this request, there are no existing records outside individual student files which would reflect the use of cued speech. Both the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) and MPIA GP ยง 4-313 restrict access to records pertaining to individual students. Additionally, there are no existing records related to training and/or education on cued speech for HCPSS staff. The HCPSS Department of Special Education indicates American Sign Language is the method typically used by teachers for the deaf and hard of hearing.
