Response Notes

Responsive to this request, in order to extract a school by school comparison county-wide of the specific information requested from the HCPSS reporting system, a new query would have to be programmed. Per the MPIA GP ยง 4-205(c)(4)(iii), an agency is not required to program a new record if the type of data extraction requested is outside its normal course of business. While individual school reports can be run for each of the 77 schools and CPR information kept at the local level could be collected through a survey of all 77 schools, significant additional staff time would be needed to process. Per discussions to understand what available reports contain requested indicators at the district level, and any queries or reports with a portion of the information requested by school, the two items below were provided.

Responsive Documents
An existing report that pulls district-level data as reported to MSDE on visit totals, types of visits, and disposition (to include cases in which 911 was called).
An existing report that pulls together school by school comparisons of total incidents, including the average and daily maximum. Please note, this report will not contain visit numbers/totals for medication administration or treatments (such as daily scheduled visits for medication distribution, insulin checks, etc.) nor will it break down the visits by type and disposition.

*Some request language is summarized to include the requester's specific document requests and legally protected information (such as personally identifiable information of a student) or personal, defamatory and malicious content removed at the discretion of the school system.

**Responses containing legally protected information available only to the person of interest are omitted from the above report.
