Requested Information
The Code of Maryland Regulation 13A.03.02.12 defines the high school year as 180 days with a minimum requirement of 1,170 hours during a ten-month period. On a normal high school day, students begin classes at 7:25 AM and end classes at 2:10 PM. Between their classes, they have five minute transition periods. Additionally, they have a 30 minute lunch period every day. We would like to know what parts of the day (including transitions? including lunch periods?) HCPSS considers as a part of the mandated annual 1,170 hours.
