Under the Maryland Public Information Act Title 4, I am requesting an opportunity to view or obtain copies of public records.

Specifically, I am seeking the following information:
(1) the list of words that are censored on school computers
(2) a list of websites that, as a result of the banned words, students are unable to view

Responsive to this request, no existing record contains a list of words censored by HCPSS on school computers, and thus resulting websites. For reference, HCPSS follows requirements under the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) – see the record below which outlines HCPSS’ current process through an outside vendor using website categorization.
