At the July 12, 2018 Board of Ed meeting, PC-8, Bid #054.18.B5 in bids and contracts, CDWG Government LLC (which I believe is actually CDW Government LLC) was approved to purchase Chromebooks in FY2019 through FY2021. I am requesting, preferably in electronic format,  the number of Chromebooks purchased and the total cost in FY2019 and FY2020 (from accounts payable databases, invoices, or other databases).  If available, I also request where the chromebooks were distributed.

Response to this request, we write to provide information provided by Information Technology staff as requested below:

  • From FY19 to March 13th, approximately 28,767 Chromebooks (of which 24,337 are available for student and staff distribution and 4430 reserved for replacing other old devices in schools with security issues) have been purchased costing $11.2M.
  • In March of FY20 additional 14,000 Chromebooks were purchased for COVID at a cost of $5.4M.
  • These chromebooks are distributed across the HCPSS schools.
