Responsive Documents
Responsive to this request, amounts paid in settlement agreements for students with disabilities including tuition and attorney fees under such agreements, as well as tutoring, independent educational evaluations and equipment for compensatory services was calculated/provided to the Board of Education during an FY2022 budget work session and can be found within this Question and Answer report (see pages 345-346). As noted, these expenses fall under the budget program #3328 - Nonpublic Services and Special Education Compliance. Please note, under the MPIA process, and as advised in the Fifteenth Edition of the Maryland Public Information Act Manual created by Maryland’s Office of the Attorney General, an agency is only obligated to produce existing records and is not required to generate new data or summarize data. This information was only calculated back to FY2018 at the time of the Board report, and has not since been totaled/updated by staff to date.
