For reference, an example of MSDE’s use of suppression can be found on the Maryland Report Card: https://reportcard.msde.maryland.gov/Graphs/#/Demographics/Enrollment/2/17/8/13/0509/2021 which reads “'*' indicates no students or fewer than 10 students in category, or '*' indicates the percentage for the category is either ≤5 or ≥95 and the corresponding counts have been suppressed.”
