Response Notes

Responsive to this request, please see the record referenced below. Please note, under the MPIA process, and as advised in the Seventeenth Edition of the Maryland Public Information Act Manual created by Maryland’s Office of the Attorney General, an agency is only obligated to produce existing records. No list of all teacher stipends, discretionary funds and/or overtime hours and pay used in the HCPSS process of the review, discussion and implementation of the Race to Be Human program exist, however Centennial staff indicate three staff members working this summer on school improvement planning for the 2022-2023 school year were compensated for approximately four hours of work totaling $100. Additional time has been used by the school’s leadership team to discuss multiple topics related to school improvement during the regular day of which no record reflects the specific time spent nor were staff provided additional compensation. Similarly, while no list of school hours scheduled/dedicated to the Race to Be Human program exists, Centennial staff indicates it will likely include nine sessions totaling approximately five hours. Additionally, no communications from Centennial staff have been created or shared as of this date regarding options for students to opt out of the social-emotional learning initiative which will include materials from the Race to Be Human program.
