HCPSS MPIA Request #2023-113

Responsive to this request, please find attached a report of lockdown and modified lockdowns used by school, to include date and location, since 2018. This available log reflects calls to the HCPSS Office of Security for purposes of notification of relevant staff on security-related incidents was first started in mid-SY2017. The entry from 2018 was the first instance of a lockdown/modified lockdown recorded in this log. Staff is not aware of an existing list including such incidents prior to that time. Please note, multiple entries per school for the same date may reflect changes in status rather than multiple instances and blank locations reflect an entry spanning more than one school. Under MPIA GP § 4-352, which indicates an agency may deny inspection of response procedures or plans prepared to prevent or respond to emergency situations, the disclosure of which would reveal vulnerability assessments, specific tactics, specific emergency procedures, or specific security procedures, and where inspection may endanger the life or physical safety of an individual, HCPSS has withheld event descriptions to include the reason for each lockdown.
