Responsive to this request, and per clarification you are seeking a list similar to a sample “Approved Tests List,” please note, since that 2013 list a revision to HCPSS Policy 8120: Testing - State and Local Responsibilities and Protocols removed the creation of an annual list of "Diagnostic tools administered by Special Education and Student Services." As such, available records containing lists of approved tests for two of the services in your request are attached below.
No similar list exists for administration of tests by special education teachers. For reference, Special Education staff indicates tests are currently approved on a case-by-case basis. The following are commonly used tests by the Special Education office: • Woodcock Johnson IV • Test of Written Language - 4
Special education is also currently piloting on a case-by-case basis: • Test of Early Written Language - 3 • Wechsler Individual Achievement Test - 4
The Office of Psychological Services Testing Committee reviews and maintains this list of assessments instruments utilized by HCPSS school psychologists. This was the first such list created after 2019.
Speech Language staff currently use the standardized assessment tools included in the attached list. For reference, no student receives all of these tests and the qualified examiner determines which assessments to use based on the IEP team discussion during an initial or reevaluation IEP meeting. Additional informal tools, measures, and questionnaires may also be used as appropriate.
