Requested Information
I am interested in accessing records regarding the water sources for each school in the district (such as groundwater, surface water, or community water system), as well as information on whether the school has on-site water filtration systems. Furthermore, if the school is connected to a community water system or has on-site filtration, it would greatly benefit my research to know the date of connection or activation.
Specifically, I am interested in the following information for each public school:
1. What type of water system they are connected to (i.e. public or well)
a. If public: when did they start receiving water from this facility
b. If well: do they have an in-school water treatment facility? When was this installed? What type of treatment is used (Chlorine, Soda Ash, etc).

Responsive to this request, please find attached available information on schools served by their own well system. All other schools in Howard County are served by the Howard County Bureau of Utilities. This record includes the date a well permit was issued as well as the type of treatments used. Specific to public systems, staff indicates most started receiving water at the time the school was constructed, although some were changed from well to public water since construction. This information is not readily available in a single report, and beyond dates for well permits issued in the provided record, specific well installation dates and dates wells began training with liquid sodium hydroxide are not readily available in a single report.
