Special education parents were recently asked to provide information to help determine compensatory services due to their children on IEPs as a result of lack of progress during the COVID shutdown. I am requesting the total amount of funding provided to HCPSS and the source(s) that has been and/or will be used to fund those compensatory services.

Responsive to this request, and our understanding that your request is about federal relief funds being applied to compensatory services, please find attached a breakdown of such funds included in the ESSER II and ESSER III budgets. Please note, these funds would be supplementing the funds already budgeted in the operating and grants funds that also fund compensatory services. Additionally, staff indicates the attorney position included here is being amended to be another position.
