Response Notes

Responsive to this request, and per clarification you are seeking “general information, including but not limited to, instructions, guidance, or direction to HCPSS staff regarding handling student requests for IEP and 504 or plans. This includes requests for meetings to discuss plans, requests for testing, and guidance regarding the establishment of such plans. Again this should not be student specific and limited to only general staff guidance," please find the following records attached/linked below. Please note, where the training and guidance documents contained links to further resources, we have included those materials as provided during such training. Other/reference links, many within internal systems, would require additional review for release. For reference, recurring guidance that would have been in place but not specific to the timeframe requested include HCPSS Policy 9060 – Rehabilitation Act of 1973 Compliance: Section 504: https://www.hcpss.org/policies/9000/9060-section-504-compliance/, HCPSS Guidelines and Procedures for 504: https://www.hcpss.org/f/special/section-504-guidelines-procedures.pdf, (as well as 504 compliance training required of case managers as noted in many of the above records and these guidelines), the HCPSS Special Education Handbook: https://www.hcpss.org/specialeducation/handbook/, and all state and federal statutes related to IDEA and 504 compliance.
