I am requesting the transportation costs for busses designated for each HCPSS school by dollar amount and total percentage of the overall Transportation budget for the 2022-2023 school year as well as the costs or projected costs for each school for the busses for the 2023-2024 school year. I am also requesting to included the number of busses each school had and has for 22/23 and 23/24 school years.

Responsive to this request, please find attached a report of transportation expenditures specific to contracted routes that service HCPSS schools and programs since August of 2022. This does not include costs for non-public schools nor will it include alternative transportation used beyond traditional school busses. No payments have been made yet for SY2023-2024, therefore no records by school exist beyond summer 2023. Please note, additional transportation costs beyond contracted school routes are not attributed to individual schools including for summer school programs. Under the MPIA process, and as advised in the Seventeenth Edition of the Maryland Public Information Act Manual created by Maryland’s Office of the Attorney General, an agency is only obligated to produce existing records and is not required to generate new data or summarize data.
