This response, while not a training, included reference resources provided to schools by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to conduct book discussions on a voluntary basis for interested staff.
This response included staff professional development/training related to racial equity and cultural proficiency, including a link to a prior record that included a Racial Equity Module for SY2020-2021.
This folder contains materials used by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for presentations not included in the responses above regarding equity. Exemptions found within these records include:
o Under MPIA GP § 4-330, we have redacted sociological information where it contains race, gender, age, religious preference, sexual orientation, and similar information identifying an individual’s protected class status and/or has the potential to pose a risk to individual safety or privacy.
o Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA), which restricts access to student records, and MPIA GP § 4-313, which prevents disclosure of school district records pertaining to individual students, we have redacted a link to an internal student presentation that could reveal individual student information.

This folder contains available catalogs not included in the responses above which outline continuing professional development courses offered by HCPSS (approved by the Maryland State Department of Education), which are available to staff based on interest and needs for recertification, including courses on Cultural Proficiency and others which may address equity.
This folder contains course descriptions for professional learning tracked internally which is able to be keyword searched for the referenced terms. Please note, this includes courses from our current centralized professional learning system - which only extends back to SY2019-2020 - similar to professional learning courses from SY2020-2021 provided in the responses above. These courses are not available for SY2021-2022 at this time.

This resolution approved by the Board of Education for the 2020 Black Lives Matter at School Week of Action references equity.
This resolution approved by the Board of Education for the 2021 Black Lives Matter at School Week of Action references equity, and the link includes staff created lessons that can be used in Middle School or High School.
